DANUBE KIDS

Outdoor learning is still a new concept to many teachers in Romania. Wild Awake is bringing its training and organisational development experience to grow a new NGO called Danube Kids. We have worked with teachers, advisers and business leaders to create a strategic vision for a new type of learning, and now work with schools to train and mentor new ways of teaching.

As the head of Danube Kids says, "There is a new species in the rich ecology of the Danube Delta: discarded plastic bottles.  But the plastic bottle is just a symptom of something else: a clash of technology and consumption with the natural environment.  Danube Kids is a new movement which says: “Let’s do something about it.  But let’s contribute to a lasting solution to the problem; having a meaningful social impact as well removing plastic from the reed beds.”
